How we plan and perform a hair transplant at Meeral
- Consultation and scalp check. Our dermatology team looks at the pattern of your hair loss, how dense your donor area is, and whether the loss is still active. If thinning is still spreading, or has a medical cause such as low iron or a thyroid problem, a transplant is not the right first step, and we will say so.
- Follicle plan and quote. We mark the area to be covered, estimate how many follicles it needs, and give you the price at our listed rate before you book. Ask who will perform your procedure and to see their PMDC registration; you should know both before you pay.
- Procedure day. The donor area is trimmed and numbed. Follicles are taken out one by one (FUE) and placed into tiny openings in the thinning area, following your natural hairline and the direction your hair grows.
- Aftercare. You go home the same day with instructions for washing, sleeping and medicines. Ask us which follow-up visits are part of your quote.
If you are not a candidate yet, there are other options. Many people start with PRP hair treatment or exosome hair treatment to slow shedding, and come back to a transplant once the pattern is clear.

What changes your total:
- The size of the area and how many follicles it needs.
- How dense you want the result to look.
- How much donor hair you have, which sets how much can be moved safely.
- What the quote includes. Ask whether it covers the consultation, medicines, any PRP and follow-up visits.
Clinics in Pakistan quote in different units. Some price per graft, a small bundle that can hold one to four hairs; others price per hair. Before you compare our figure with another clinic's, ask both to state the unit and the total for your area in writing.

Who should not have a hair transplant yet, and the risks
A transplant moves hair; it does not create new hair. It is usually not advised if:
- Your hair loss is still spreading quickly, which is common in younger men whose pattern has not settled.
- Thinning covers the whole scalp, including the back and sides you would take hair from.
- The cause is medical and untreated, for example patchy loss (alopecia areata), low iron or a thyroid problem.
- You have uncontrolled diabetes, a bleeding disorder, or take blood thinners. Tell us about every medicine you use.
In plain words, the risks are: swelling of the forehead for a few days, scabbing, numbness or tingling in the scalp, infection, a temporary shedding of existing hair near the transplanted area, and some grafts that do not take. Transplanted hair normally falls out in the first weeks and grows back later; new growth usually starts after a few months and the full result takes about a year.
