What the evidence says, in plain words
Exosome hair treatment is new. The published research so far is mostly laboratory work, small studies and case reports, not large controlled trials. No exosome product is approved by the US FDA to treat hair loss, and the FDA has warned the public about unapproved stem cell and exosome products. Results vary from person to person, and nobody can promise you a set amount of regrowth.
We offer it because some patients want to try it after PRP, or alongside it, and we would rather you hear the limits from us before you pay.
How we approach exosome treatment at Meeral
- Scalp assessment. Our dermatology team checks the pattern of loss and looks for causes that need treating first, such as low iron, thyroid problems or patchy hair loss.
- Choosing the treatment. For many people PRP hair treatment, from Rs 4,000, is the sensible first step. If exosome treatment suits you, we explain the difference between the Korean and American products and how many sessions your plan involves.
- The session. The product is applied to the thinning areas in clinic. Ask to see the vial, its brand and where it is made before it is used.
- Review. Hair grows slowly, so progress is judged over months, with photos taken in the same light each time.

Who should not have exosome treatment, and the risks
- People with large bald areas where follicles are gone. A hair transplant is the treatment that moves hair into those areas.
- Anyone with a scalp infection, open wounds or a flare of psoriasis on the scalp.
- Pregnant or breastfeeding women.
- People with a current or past cancer, until their own doctor agrees, because the long-term effects of these products are not known.
Short-term side effects are usually mild: redness, tenderness or small bruises where the product is applied. The bigger risk is paying for a treatment that does little for your type of hair loss, which is why the assessment comes first.
